The recent listing of the ICE tokens on the OKX exchange has sparked controversies, and the ICE Token team has laid blame on OKX for the subpar listing of their $ICE coin on the exchange on January 19th at 10:00 a.m. UTC. Alleging discrepancies and operational lapses, the ICE Token team has labeled OKX a “scam exchange” in a recent statement.
According to the ICE Token team, a strategic agreement was forged with OKX in December, a well-regarded exchange, for the listing of their ICE coin. The agreement included a 5-hour exclusivity period post-listing, during which ICE Token committed not to explore listings on alternative exchanges.
It is emphasized by ICE Token that no funds or ICE coins were provided to OKX for the listing; instead, OKX approached the project, expressing confidence in its potential and community strength.
Despite receiving interest from other prominent exchanges, ICE Token chose to honor its commitment with OKX. However, recent developments have cast a shadow on the exchange’s reputation.
Drawing attention to issues observed during the listing of Avive on OKX in December, ICE Token raised concerns about users struggling to locate the newly listed coin and facing trading restrictions in specific regions.
Assurances were made by OKX that these problems were addressed, with a promise of dedicated engineering support during ICE Token’s listing. The ICE Token team also actively promoted OKX to its user base through various channels.
After the ICE coin listing on OKX, a barrage of complaints inundated the ICE token community:
- Users reported difficulty finding ICE on the OKX web and mobile apps.
- Logged-in users encountered challenges locating ICE on the platform.
- Numerous users faced trading restrictions, citing local compliance issues, even in regions previously confirmed as exempt by OKX.
The Chinese community experienced additional complications, including ICE inaccessibility, an inability to purchase ICE coins, and conflicting responses from OKX support regarding purported geographic restrictions imposed by the ICE team.
Furthermore, the ICE Token team promptly notified OKX of these issues, but no concrete actions have been taken by the exchange to address or rectify the concerns.
To address the mounting grievances and ensure transparency, ICE Token is urging affected users to respond with specific details, including OKX ID, country, and evidence of the encountered issues or interactions with OKX support.
Despite the challenges, ICE Token reaffirms its commitment to resolving these issues promptly, emphasizing its dedication to enhancing user experience. Users from certain restricted countries are exempted from responding to the call for details.
ICE Token expresses gratitude for the continued support and patience of its community as they work towards resolving the challenges at hand.
